I don't have my 84 anymore, but I believe that the speakers I put in were 6x9.

The space is rather low in the doors, they might get kicked. I just left the
original speakers in place and disconnected them.  Had to remove the "map
compartment" on the driver's door.  I assume that you don't have power
windows.
