I would go to Home Depot and buy some galvanized nuts,  washers and
bolts.  Thats what I've been using for years and I haven't had to saw
off a corroded bolt since.

Are special bolts required when installing new muffler on 89 Vanagon (2.1)?
I'm installing a new muffler and pass through pipe from Bus Depot and didn't
order new bolts too.  Will hardware variety stuff do?
