on this trip we're taking we hope to use our syncro pretty extensively to
get to areas (along logging, mining, and other backcountry roads) beyond
the norm for some nice camping and fishing.

how do people find out about good places for such driving in places they
know nothing about?  i realize the best places are shared by word of mouth
(if at all), but are there websites or newsgroups or other places where
this information is shared?  i am going to post this also to syncro and
syncro-org on yahoo groups (sorry for the crossposts, for those of you who
are going to get this multiple times thereby).

as i get our itinerary/route planned i will post more specific info requests.
