The bearings in my 87 's 3 speed radiator fan are beginning to get
quite noisy.  $250 for a new one seems to be quite pricey (typical
Vanagon).

I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with an aftermarket fan.  My
preliminary research shows units available for around $75 with a
2000cfm rating.   Does any one know what the third stage (hurricane)
CFM rating is?

I'm also wondering if the cause for the fan coming on so much is that
the R12 level is lower than necessary?

Anyone elses experiences would be appreciated.
