richard, excellent site. i showed it to my wife last night, and we discussed our summer trip plans in light of your trip. looks like we're going to reverse your part between durango and hall's creek overlook, roughly, on our way from santa fe to zion. does anyone familiar with that area in the summer recommend against driving it? i worry about bentonite gumbo underwheel and flash floods, both courtesy of summer thunderstorms. looking at my maps there are quite a few roads marked "impassable when wet". impassable for a syncro? tia. bill '87 syncro westfalia http://www.scruznet.com/~kasper/pics/westy/
