Finn,
My '90 Westy was converted a few years ago by a A/C shop in San Diego. They checked for leaks and it has since been checked for leaks and none found, but it is going out somewhere. It's cheaper for me to just add a couple of cans a year to keep it cold.

Subject: AC Conversion
Dear List...
I recently ordered the R12-134a conversion kit from the Bus Depot. I
then read that the conversion will fail because the Vanagons AC hoses were
not made for the newer refrigerant. Is anyone running 134a without the hose
change...how long have you been running it, and does anyone know is there are
replacement hoses available?
