Hi Tony, This has happened to me a few times. What I've found is that the shaft is metal/iron/steel of sorts and the wiper arm is a much softer aluminum and the spline has Alum packed into them. Clean them out and tighten down on the nut and this should fix it. P.S. I have also had to replace the wiper arm because of repeated strippings. Needless to say I tightened it down, using a socket drive, but it seems to still have some slippage - ie when I cleaned the windows with a squeege I pushed down a bit on the wiper blade and it slid down -- i am concerned that the splines on the drive are either chewed up/getting chewed up -- hate to mess em up more...any ideas of how to secure the wiper arm to the drive spline so it won't slip? or how to rehab the splines or ????
