I just bought a brand new Vanagon Transmission.  It has a 4.57 Ring and
Pinion which is supposed to lower RPMs on the highway.  I want $1595 for it
plus shipping.  There is no core charge but you will need to swap over your
bellhousing from your waterboxer tranny (this transmission was originally for
a 5-cylinder van in South Africa).  Let me know if you are interested.  I
only have one and once it is sold, I probably won't be getting any more.
