Clicking noise on cold startup after sitting for a day or few is most likely hydraulic lifters. They tend to bleed down. A Mann or Mahle oil filter probably will stop this. It has the correct filter valve pressure spring for the WBX engines. Clicking will go away usually after its run a while, and the Mahle and Mann filters help the pressure hold after shut down. Even with those filters, lack of use over long periods will allow the pressure to bleed down.
