I paid $200 for my '84 7-passenger about 2 weeks ago. Replaced the two front-to-rear water pipes myself, front suspension bushings are next, then trans gaskets and CV boots. All said and done, including tags and title, ~$500. -Dave '91 Jetta GTX 16V '88 Jetta GLI 16V '84 Vanagon
