Yes - for some years on many VWs you can't lock the driver's door when leaving the car by pushing the button down, etc. as you can on many American/Japanese vehicles.

really? I'd assumed this to be another job on my Vanagon fix-it list. Like
Terry wrote, I cannot push the drivers door lock button from the inside but
I can use the key to lock the door from the outside, this is how it was
designed?
