FYI for those who have ever locked keys in the van I would like to pass on
an aged old trick that makes the vanagon the easiest car to get into.

Use a flat rigid piece of something (like a hand saw blade) and slide it in
the between the sliding side windows and push down on the window lock and
slide the window open.
