I just purchased a nice 87 GL for $400 but no key available.  Has anyone
tried to drill through the steering column like Bentley says to get the key
lock out?  With the lock out of the column, they only charged me $6 to make
2 keys but it's $75 to come to the house to do it.  That was on my 71 SB VW
but on this vanagon it says to drill a hole near the lock and it'll come
right out!!

Has anyone tried that yet?
