Hey y'all, I just got back from the Seattle vintage VW show. Never been to a VW show, and if you haven't either, it's worth it to recharge your VW enthusiasm battery (mine had run down after a long series of breakdowns). Never been an air-head, but wow! Now I want a '67 bus and a oval window bug--I can't stop dreaming about restorations. Plus, there were some fantastic vanagons in the parking lot. David Marshall brought his latest German Army import double cab pickup, and there was a gorgeous red immaculate double-cab pickup I wished I could have seen more of. A few hotroad low-riding vanagons were there, including one that looked brand new. From BC, it had a "Porsche Vanagon" emblem on the dash, hinting at what must have been in the engine compartment. Wished I could have found the owner. Anyway, I'm all excited again to crawl back under Calvin and finish up some projects. Maybe even change the oil. Add those fog lights. Redo the interior door panels and soundproof the doors. Add that extra Hella interior light. Hand polish and wax the paint. Finally fix the rear seat heater. Fix that rust spo... Cheers, Steve and Calvin, a quaint little wood-floored 84 Westy P.S. All you Left-coasters: see you at the Vancouver, BC show in August!
