I do confess that I don't own a Vanagon at the moment, so I had to take my F**d on my trip...Have always had a truck/camper to take the 3 kids & friends camping and puling a 17' boat besides...suited our needs better then and now that we are empty nesters, we might switch back to a westy I am pretty much only on this list to try to bail some of you out of transmission hell when you get there....and occasionally sell a tranny to said same. But I have had 4 if that helps make it all better and have worked on them for all their years of existence... I own a Jetta and my Quantum Syncro and a 64 Bug and the F250, so have no room for too many other rigs... OK I am mentally & phsically prepared for all the flame throwing... > >Daryl, >How come you didn't take a volkswagen on your road trip? >Would have been much more memorable, especially driving >over all the mountains. Would have been a good test run >for one of your trannys. >Or do all the vw mechanics drive F**ds when they go on >road trips? >Take my word for it, veedubs are great for trips like that. They can handle it quite well. Btw, everyone at my local vw dealership drives F**ds or something like that. Does that mean something?
