I wonder if that protection plate is the same steel box that I see enclosing
my engine in my 16" w/ the 1.6td. It is definitely thicker and different form
the regular diesel sheetmetal box. It;s steel plate of some kind welded to
the skid bars.

I tried to view the pics on that website posted earlier but the pics would
not load. Does nay boy have a clear photo of this protection plate? I will
eventually remove the one in my Syncro and take pictures. That will not be
available for some time though.
