After reading all of the recent posts & ranting a little myself, I finally
e-mailed Michelin through their web site. The first thing I did was to
politely ream them for still recommending the wrong tires for Vanagons. I
also ask them questions about availability. They called me and informed me
of this:
1. The word has been sent up through channels about the web
site. Lets not get started about corporate America now.
2. The Agilis 61 in a 185 x 14 is the recommended tire for a
Vanagon with 14" steel or alloy wheels
3. The Agilis 61 (185 X 14) is in stock right now with another
shipment due soon.
3. The Agilis that is out of stock at the moment is a 205/65 X
15 which I think is a 51 and which does not apply to Vanagons
with 14" wheels.
You may call Michelin yourself @ 1-800-847-3435
I still think the 185 X 14 Agilis 61 is the best Michelin I have owned since
the first X - AirStop I bought in 1966.
