Just reviewed this for myself today.  Getting ready to go to Alaska for about
2 weeks.

I have never found it very obvious how to find this info.
Start by going to vanagon.com
  Then scroll down in the main page and click on "Vanagon mailing list web
pages"
    There you will find a link called how to leave or go on vacation along
with other related instructions.

Note that commands are sent to: listserv@gerry.vanagon.com

Type carefully.
