Subject:More Heater Valve
From:Dave Baker

Well, I finally got the old valve out. Not only is it corroded and stuck
partially open, but the lever that controls it is completely broken off. So
this creates my next problem/question: How does the cable attach to the
lever on the new one? The end of the cable is bent into an "L" shape, and
there's a small hole in the end of the lever, obviously meant for the end of
the cable. Is there any other hardware that is used to secure the cable
into the lever? Should the end of the cable come through the hole from the
inside or the outside? Should I just hook it up and hope for the best?

(If all the jobs I do on this van are as tough as this one, mechanics earn
every penny they get!)
