thanks all: I found the EKTA refence as well, and bought a packet of 20 x 26 x 3 mm o-rings at Pep Boys for $ 1.59. Way too small. Then I matched the (stretched) old ring to the reference book and bought some bigger ones- just too big. I imagine I will need a 26 x 32 x 3 mm o-ring? Any validation of this conjecture? TIA again-Geo. --- Coby Smolens <cobys5@HOME.COM> wrote: > I have it at 26mm X 3mm according to ETKA; VW Part > #: N 902 781 01 > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List > [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM]On Behalf > Of George Wietor > Sent: Monday, August 20, 2001 5:37 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: 2.1 l. thermo body o-ring size? > > > Hello: I am replacing the o-ring between the > thermostat body and the engine on my '87 VANAGON. > The one I removed is now stretched out of > shape/size. > Ineed to call around for one locally, but I don't > know > the size... > Save me from having to completely disassemble/break > the thermostat housing. > Van O'White thanks you in advance.
