Had the same problem in my 82, turned out that there was a kink in the
plastic hose that goes up to the nozzles.  You could see it, or get to it
with your hands, but when you pulled the hose out you could see where it
had been.  I carefully reinstalled the hose and it has been squirting ever
since.
