I'm driving an 83 Air Cooled Westfalia and I cruise at 75 quite often. I'm in Texas and there aren't many hills. I have to back off to 68-70 when I'm fighting a head wind. My tach reads 3100 RPM at 70 MPH. Its just approaching 3300 RPM at 75 and I think that is about the ideal RPM to be running, at least the Westy likes it.
