I have Michelin 6.5R16 tires mounted on my Syncro - mega aggressive, 10 ply,
75PSI inflation pressure. They measure 28.5" tall and *maybe* 6.5" wide -
quite the impressive tire. I wish I could find more of them.

see http://www.vanagon.com/media/syncro/img/syncro_brochure_1.jpg for what
they look like.

Matthew, you said,

<< Ok, i need some non-highway-tread tires...>>

   I'm running 27 x 8.50R14T/C BF Goodrich Radial All-Terrain T/As on a
2wd Westy. They work well in wet or dry conditions. They are a bit
noisy, but we don't much notice the humming unless the windows are down.

Tire diameter is 26.7 inches, tread width is 6.8 inches. They turn
779 rpm at 45 mph. Maximum load is 1515 lbs at 50 psi. (load index 95)

The only caveat is that they're *supposed* to be mounted on 6 to
7 inch rims, but I haven't had any problems.
