I had looked at some at a local H & R Dealer. The ones I saw had a ridge which mimics the diameter of the application in question. They advertise these as "hubcentric" spacers. From what I've seen, the use of a Passat spacer for instance would not solve the dust cap clearance problem. There are a specific models which can work. What one needs will depend on what wheel needs to be installed in what vehicle.

There is a listee who sells German made spacers. If he doesn't chime in here soon, I may have to expose him.

At any rate, I answered these fitting questions on at least three occasions in the past couple of months.
