AFAIK, in all of history, no ground force has ever succeeded in Afghanistan. The losses of a ground invasion would exceed your worse nightmares. But if need be, it will be done but IMHO at great cost to everyone. Required Vanagon content: Over thirty years ago, my wife and I passed through Kabul on our way from Pakistan to Turkey. In those days, Kabul was on the "Hippy Migration Route" from Europe to India. Splittys and Bays could be spotted down lanes and behind walls where they remained after the would-be migrants ended their travels, forever, in the land of cheap drugs. -Larry <The only way to get Bin Laden is to go in > there with ground troops.
