Ron: I believe you've got your facts straight and ducks in a row on Afganistan, the Taliban and Bin Laden. I also think the answer to your question is: contact your senators and congresspeople in writing and let them know what you want the U.S. to do in response to the 9/11 call made last Tuesday.
http://www.senate.gov/senators/senator_by_state.cfm

The frustration I almost always exlperience when doing this kind of thing is that I don't carry enough clout to influence these people. Having a last name associated with control of petroleum, banking or land (countries) helps in that department, but.....nothing ventured, etc..(I have a last name associated with broken cars and marriages).

I have files full of letters from my state senators and congressional reps in response to my letters telling them what I want them to do regarding oil drilling in the arctic, Canyonlands in Utah, draining Lake Powell, etc. so I have a little mileage in the political activism dept, but not alot. It keeps my old brain moving and my colon....well, you get the idea. If you'd like to check out a site that is involved pretty heavily try: www.livingrivers.net .

Anyway, your idea of not making things worse for the Afgani's, as they have already been quite nicely raped and pillaged by the Taliban, is very good, I think.

Bob Stevens
