I too have a strange clutch issue:
My clutch pedal goes about 5/8 of the way down then makes contact with a
solid feeling.
I checked the hydraulics and bled them; the problem is not there.
I can see the clutch release pivot a couple of cm's but then it hits this
solid wall.
It seems to me that maybe my clutch diaphragm has broken or something else
in the clutch assembly has failed...

I suppose I must pull the engine to find out.

Anybody have a similar experience?
