I can see it all: those ballcap-bedecked, soft suburban bodies lined up in front of the recruitment office at the mall jockeying to be first on queue; sons of physicians dropping out of premed programs all over the country so that they can become grunts (medicine is no fun anymore anyway, ask any MD, but don't tell their sons); and our daughters in the Khyber pass fighting side by side with our boys just like the Israeli women would do to protect their own freedom. My vision is still rather ethereal, only an effluvium rising from a patriotic quagmire, but gaining substance daily. Tomorrow, I go to the optometrist. I want him to fit me with a pair of those eyeglasses which are made in Viet Nam; I think those might bring everything into focus. Rich
