I mounted our dog's stars and stripes bandana(not a real flag) on the kayak
roof rack of my van threading the sleeve my wife sewed on one end of it with
1/8" ABS plastic welding rod and electrical taped it to the upright billet
aluminum bar that stacks the yaks(damn that was a long sentence).

It flapped proudly in the breeze for about 3 days til the welding rod
failed(craked at both tape joints).  Now I have a  red ,white, and blue neck
ribbon from an old whitewater slalom race medal award that I tied on top of
the antenna and it will have to do.  Gonna give blood at work on Tuesday(off
the clock, how's that for patriotism?)
