On our '86 Syncro Westfalia, the power steering pump has developed a leak. It only leaks when I take tight turns and it only leaks from the pump shaft area. My question is, is my problem only with the pump or should I look at the rack for the cause of the high pressure on tight turns. I have a spare pump if that is all that I need. But my concern is that somehow there should be a relief valve in the rack which isn't functioning. Can anyone shed some light on how this power steering system works? -Larry
