No hits with the current Vanagon, but my orange 79 loaf had a 150 =3er jump in front on a trip back from paddling Big Piney Creek several years ago. After shaking off the adrenaline, I barely got out tof the car(timeframe: dark-thirty) and a pickup truck full of"locals" asked if they could have the deer. I didn't care until I realized that they'd just hauled off my evidence for the insurance claim and police report. Fortunately, the $1100 damage was covered by comprehensive and that previous bondo in the front end had chipped and snagged enough deer fur to satisfy everyone involved. Dimwitted Moose and Flying Squirrel. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Rodgers" <jhrodgers@CHARTER.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, October 12, 2001 4:40 PM Subject: Re: Deer Strike Stories > When living in Alaska, I was driving along the Seward Highway in > Turnagain Pass outside of Anchorage and was the first on the scene where > a motorhome with folks up from the Lower 48 had collided head-on with > Alaska's biggest deer ... a big in-the-prime bull moose.
