Almost exactly 5 years ago I was traveling through central and northern CA
(Hwy 1 from LA to Frisco, then over to Tahoe, and back to LA through the
Natl. parks). I can't remember whether it was the first or second night (I
made the trip in 7 days), But I took my VW Golf out on the beach and
camped. I've been toying with the idea of doing the same trip in my newly
TiiCo'd bus, but I have this little fear of getting stuck out on the beach
(I only have a 2wd, not a Syncro).
