I too have dealt with floppy/loose connections to the cigarette adapter.
After going to my local FLAPS and buying an adapter that allows to devices
to use the adapter simultaneously, I accidentally discovered that my problem
was solved. For whatever reason, this adapter is thicker than any of my
individual plugs.
