Solved (I hope!)
Sprayed WD40 on linkage in back and seems Gnormal so far.
BUT- what is that grease (Zerk) fitting in the shifter rod center that goes
in the tranny? And where am I going to find a grease gun?
I did not think these newfangled vehicles had Zerk fittings.
