I do the same thing to my Vanagon for the opposite reason. I tape over my
vent in the spring to keep the hot outside air from getting in the cabin
area. I recently removed the tape to allow the cooler outside air in so I
didn't have to run the air conditioning on a recent trip.

Go figure.
