So, I finally took my van into the mechanic today. I'm not overly confident he will find my electric woes (van just dies, I've posted the problem before). In any case, I told him that I cut apart my wiring harness and he crimped the connections. I told him that I would probably fix it with solder later. He told me that crimp connections are better and do fine as long as you use that shrink tube stuff on it to keep out the corrision. The basis for his arguement was that the solder can easily heat up and then the connection goes to hell. He said he thought solder was better, but he learned this in some class he took a few years ago. Well, I'm not expert and am not too sure which theory I now believe, but thought I would post this view on the list. Blake 84 westy SLC, UT
