Blake and all, I quietly watched this thread and remained silent, especially when I thought that the point had been made. However, maybe I saw the point because I was looking for it and others may have missed it. So, starting over again. 1) Based on actual test results, crimping is better than soldering. 2) Based on what's going on in the connection, soldering should be better than crimping. How can this be? If proper tools are used for both soldering and crimping, only low skill is required to create a good crimped connection. However, good soldering is a learned skill. (If you think that soldering is so easy, please think back to when you first started to solder.) So, my advice is if you know how to solder, always choose to solder rather than crimp. If you don't have good soldering skills, always choose to crimp. And, in either case, use the right tools for the job. Mike -- Phoeniz, AZ
