Matthew, I have a smallish lightweight Thule Pod (36lbs empty) and a Kayak (37lbs empty) on Yak rack up top. To be honest ... I can't open the poptop with both on. Have to take the kayak off and make sure I keep the contents in the Pod under 25lbs. At that weight I can just, and I stress just barley get it up ... so to speak. If I was feeling a bit ill, flu or whatever ... I wouldn't even try. I'm a 5' 11" woose probably. Also have the fake gutter yak mounts bolted to the side. I never exceed 100 lbs total on top. lchase 85Westy Campbell, CA
