It is policy at National Chains of Oil Change shops to refuse to change
fluid in old transmissions (100k or more) unless you produce a receipt
for prior service within 25K or a receipt for a transmission rebuild job.
New fluid removes all that dirt that keeps things sealed in old
transmissions and the most common leak is at the torque converter, shift
linkage and output shaft.
If you ever rebuild an automatic transmission.......... always replace
the engine crank seal.
