It's possible that you have air or combustion gasses in the cooling system. Either will cause the coolant to get pushed out of the pressure tank causing the low coolant light to come on. It can also cause the coolant to stop flowing causing intermittent temperature problems. Make the sure that the pressure cap is also working. Although you have new heads, you may still have a problem where the heads meet the cylinders. When I warm her up at the start of the day, her coolant light comes on after a couple of minutes. If I turn off the engine and restart her, sometimes the light will stay off. This just started a couple of days ago. Today while driving to work, the gauge kept creeping up until it was almost to the top then the light came on. I shut her down and restarted. The gauge went down to normal and the light remained off. I just had the heads replaced two months ago along with a new radiator, and thermostat. Any ideas? When I check it, the coolant level is fine. Thanks in advance for any help.
