<< I took my van down to the local auto glass repair place and they made a template off of the old glass, cut out a new piece of mirror with it and glued it in the housing for $10.  My mirror was not broken.  Just the shinny stuff had corroded away. >>

What did you do about the heating element in the glass. IIRC the power mirrors came with defrosters in the glass.
