Hi all! I own a 1982 N/A diesel vanagon that was converted to 1.6l TD. It runs and starts very good and even tough the compression is very good (475,475,475,450) it burns quite a lot of oil. About 1 quart every 150 miles in the worse. I know bad oil rings may be the cause but i have been told that due to the incline of the engine in the vanagon, some kind of oil bypass tube used by the turbo should be modified. If it is not, some oil might just go back to the turbo and be burnt by the engine. I suspect this modification was not done. Some of you know about this? Thanks in advance!
