As things would have it I had occasion to install some spark plugs in my 91 Crown Victoria today after detecting a bad miss in the engine the day before. I'm glad I had my Westy to run for parts because after I bought the plugs I found the plugs in the car to be a strange combination of spark plugs. #1. Right bank ford three short reach plugs, one long reach plug. #2. Left bank ford theee short reach plugs one long reach plug. Nice combination, they screwed both banks. I bought the new plugs in advance and they were all short reach plugs. I returned the plugs to my not so favorite FLAPS and argued for 15 minutes before I finally got the right plugs. I'd never have gotten them if I hadn't gone to the Motorcraft applications book. The store computer kept coming up with the wrong plug number and right under the number displayed on the computer screen it clearly states "See applications guide". Now say.......... I need to see the Motor craft spark plug book three times in Spanish, and you'll see what a challenge it is just getting the right spark plug. Since I bought this car used I just have to remember " The long arm of a Previous Owner reaches great distances". The car only had 67K on it when I bought it so I'm pretty sure it has only been through "In your Butt Speedy Tune" once.
