well, i used to work for the water works and the sewer processing
station, back in my younger days. we had ditch-diggers, or as we
called 'em, hole-diggers, or just holers.

the highest paid holer was the operator of the big backhoe. he was
called one-holer.

the next best holer was operator of the smaller backhoe. he was called
two-holer.

each one had a driver or assistant. they were called ass. holes.
