Subject:Re: sound dampening materials???

A friend of mine bought enough of this B-Quiet stuff to do his new F*rd van,
both the rolls of stick-on stuff and a couple gallons of slurry stuff to do
the front doors and other weird places. He found that when putting the
sticky stuff on that smaller strips were much easier than larger pieces, and
irregularities in the surface will drive you nuts if you want it to get into
the nooks and crannies and fully adhere. It also chews up your fingers and
is so incredibly sticky, but hopefully it won't come off. Having done about
half of his van, a cargo E150 (bare shell of a van, but he's swooping it
up), it makes a huge difference. It's already much quieter on the road, and
he still has the passenger side to do and the front doors. He really likes
the stuff. Just someone else's opinion..

I just did the rear deck, engine cover, under the front and rear seats with
the aluminized B-Quiet Extreme product. It is easy to install, is rated
higher than Dynamat and is a lot cheaper. I am happy so far but will be
adding more of it next time I remove the dash and front carpeting.
