Hi all...

I recently purchased an '81 Transporter to play with. It came with a fresh
(2k miles) GEX 2.0 and Weber progressive conversion, as well as a
freshly-overhauled trans, clutch and suspension and new tires, all for the
princely sum of $1200. Oh, and the gas heater works great! Anyway, we have a
new Jetta and a 16V Scirocco as well, so I'm fairly new to the aircooled
side of things.  The bus just looks like hell (tan over brown with red
primer spots, whitewall tires), but I've had a lot of fun driving it back
and forth to work over thast couple of weeks. The body and wheels are
getting a good coat of tan epoxy primer in a couple of weeks, which will
make it all the same color, at least. To add to the "utility" look, I'd also
like to install a set of 27x8.5/14 Kumhos on the stock rims. I know these
fit the Syncro; will I have clearance issues on the 2WD model? (It sits up
pretty high).  Also, where can I get that black plastic fender trim I've
seen on the Syncros? Thanks for any other advice you might offer, too...
