Subject:HELP: rear hatch power lock quit
From:marty guinn

hi list, i'm hoping someone can help me find a way to get my rear hatch
open!

at first a few years ago, the power locks in the front doors started dying
out with proper function. I would come out in the winter and the locks would
just be sitting there going UP and DOWN! sometimes they'd work and sometimes
they wouldn't. i'd have to use the key to get em to quit somehow. so i knew
the contacts in the lock modules were going bad or corroded or somethin. so
i then installed an ON/OFF switch at the fuse terminal to turn them on and
off whenever needed. Why?

Well, the key slot has worked with the back hatch, but only if closed
completely. So sometimes if I didn't get it closed all the way the key would
NOT work, so I'd have to go up and operate the power locks from up front,
and it would somehow reset the hatch lock and then the key would open it.

Well now the locks won't work at all. and i can't even get the hatch to open
with the key manually, but the other locks work fine "manually".

so what now?
Should i be trying to get the front ones to work again?

any help is greatly appreciated!
