Hi all,

Does anyone have a pre 1985 sliding door for sale? Or know of one in a junkyard
(sorry, auto recycling center...). The sliding door for 1985 onwards is
different. The easiest way to tell the difference is to look at the rear end of
the door opening. The pre '85 style has a rear latch which looks kind of like
the latch on the tailgate, while the later style is a simple round pin, like
the front-door latch on a Golf.

I'm looking for a door with no rust. (Scratches with surface rust are OK.)
I can deal with dents. It doesn't matter what kind of window/mmissing window.
Color doesn't matter either, it's going to get new paint inside & out anyway.
Condition of hardware & interior panel doesn't matter either, since I have
those from the old door.

My Diesel Vanagon 9-passenger is getting new paint, but we discovered that the
bottom inside edge of the sliding door is all rusted out.

I'm located north of Boston, MA. I'll go anywhere in New England, and maybee NY
to pick up a good door. I'll consider shipping from further away if I can't
find something closer.
