How hard is it to change the ring and pinion in a diesel trans to something similar to the gas tranny? I just found a decent trans to replace my leaker, however its a diesel trans. Since I don't want to drive at 4500+ in fourth, the alternative is to swap the r/p or keep looking. Can I do this myself? Would a local tranny place be able to do it? What's the cost to have them do it? If it won't work, anyone need a diesel tranny (sans bellhousing)? Thoughts and opinions? John Runberg
