Frank, I just measured a 1.6NA out of a 1982. There is a slight indentation in the end of the shaft. From this indentation to the bottom of the hole is 11mm. From the very outermost part of the crank (i.e. NOT measuring in the indentation) is 11.6mm. ----- Original Message ----- From: Frank Grunthaner <FrankGRUN@AOL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Sunday, February 03, 2002 9:30 PM Subject: I4 Transmission Input Shaft Length >So I don't know if the pilot bearing hole in the crank is the same for the > Vanagon Diesel as it is for the Audi 3A 2.0L engine.
